Three-time Oscar nominee The Wild Robot is a gorgeous film that is both entertaining and educational for adult and child audiences. It follows an artificial intelligence service robot when it is accidentally abandoned in a forest during shipping. As time passes, the robot learns what it means to be natural, to be an animal, or even human, and how the artificial, such as technology, differs from nature. In doing so, the film explores themes of purpose, friendship, parenthood, growing up, environmentalism, change, and the rise of technology.
